Lesley Garrett performs in Yeovil

LESLEY Garrett, one of Britain’s most popular soprano singers, will be presenting a recital evening of songs and arias at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil tonight.

Her songs will come from well-known operas, musicals and popular music.

Lesley (pictured) will be accompanied by pianist Andrew West and joined by a special guest singer.

The programme will include music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Porter, Berlin and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Lesley has recently starred in Carousel and The Sound of Music, appeared on television in Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women, and sung with the English National and Welsh National Opera.

The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets priced £28.50 and £30 are available from the Octagon box office on 01935-422884.
