Ric Sanders plays the David Hall - tonight!

ECLECTIC trio the Ric Sanders Group are playing the David Hall in South Petherton tonight (Saturday).

Fronted by Fairport Convention violinist Ric Sanders (pictured), the group features Vo Fletcher on guitar and Michael Gregory on drums and percussion.

Although considering himself primarily a jazz musician, Ric is equally adept in rock, folk and world music.

Early in his career he toured with the renowned percussionist Stomu Yamash'ta and went on to play with the celebrated jazz pianists Johnny Patrick and Michael Garrick.

In addition to Fairport, he has worked with a diverse roster of artists including Rick Wakeman, Jethro Tull, Robert Plant and Gary Brooker from Procol Harum.

His group draws their repertoire from some of the greatest contemporary musicians, blending music by Duke Ellington and Miles Davis with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles.

Original compositions, folk tunes and some re-worked Fairport Convention favourites can also be found in the avant-garde mix.
