FREE blood pressure checks are now available at a South Somerset pharmacy ahead of a national awareness day.
Stroke Association’s 'Know Your Blood Pressure Day' is April 14, with Wells Pharmacy Martock using the occasion to provide the free help.
In Somerset alone, it is estimated that 27 per cent of the population have high blood pressure, with an estimated 60,450 undiagnosed cases.
The Church Street pharmacy is encouraging local residents to visit them for a health check.
High blood pressure increases your risk of life-threatening conditions like heart failure and stroke.
Toni Holmes, the Pharmacy Manager at Well Pharmacy Martock said: “As well as managing your prescriptions, we’re here to provide personalised health advice, products and services all designed to benefit your health and wellbeing.
"I'm keen to get to know each member of our community individually, so just pop in to see our friendly team for a chat as a first port of call - you don’t need an appointment and it could save you time.”
