THE search is on across Somerset for learners and employers who can show that learning has had a dramatic impact on their lives or business.
Now in their second year, the South West Skills Awards celebrate those who have embraced training and development and have put in that extra effort.
Last year over 175 organisations and individuals were recognised for their achievements and this year's ceremony is set to reward even more success stories.
Malcolm Gillespie, Regional Director of the Learning and Skills Council South West, said: "The awards recognise learners and companies whose achievements might otherwise go unnoticed."
Any individual learner or organisations can enter the awards if they have completed courses or projects which have been funded by the LSC South West in the past year. Employers who offer apprenticeships can enter the National Apprenticeship Awards.
Categories include: Apprentice of the Year, Learning Against the Odds, Train to Gain Employer of the Year and Achieving Skills for Life in the South West.
Application forms can be downloaded from the LSC website on the South West pages (www.lsc.gov.uk/regions/SouthWest), by request via email skillsawards@jbp.co.uk, or by calling 0117 907 3400.
Apprenticeship awards application forms are available via www.apprenticeships.org.uk. The closing date for both applications is Friday, February 29.
