There are a number of flood alerts in place across Somerset as snow melts during the aftermath of Storm Emma.

With temperatures increasing, the snow is melting quite rapidly - improving road conditions but the Envirionment Agency has issued a number of flood alerts for the Somerset area.

The most serious of which is a flood warning issued to the Porlock Weir area, where the snow thawing will combine with the high tide.

Elsewehere there are flood alerts in place for the same reason all along the stretch of coast including Bridgwater, Burnham-On-Sea as far as Uphill and Kingston Seymour. There is also an isolated flood alert for Minehead.
