DRIVERS on the M5 faced stop-start traffic and long delays throughout Somerset for nearly two hours.
Delays mostly affected drivers travelling northbound, and started around 5.30pm.
There were spells of heavy congestion starting south of Junction 26 for Wellington, and affecting drivers all the way up to Junction 15 north of Bristol.
After an hour, Traffic eased from Wellington to Bridgwater, although there were still areas of slowly moving traffic near Junction 22 for Burnham-on-Sea.
The road had cleared by 8.30pm.
