ALL LANES on the M5 have been reopened following a nine-vehicle crash northbound near Bridgwater.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 11.06am by Avon and Somerset Police to attend the multi-vehicle crash between J23 and J24.
Traffic was affected until around 2.30pm when the lanes were reoponed.
Congestion remains heavy on the M5 following the crash.
Nine vehicles were involved in the crash but none were seriously damaged, no airbags had deployed and no one was seriously injured or trapped.
Three fire appliances and a special rescue tender were mobilised from Bridgwater and Taunton.
At the scene fire crews assisted the occupants from their vehicles to a place of safety and cordoned off lanes two and three.
They then set about making all vehicles involved safe.
