THE train line between Taunton and Exeter St Davids has finally reopened after severe flooding caused it to close.
The line has been shut since Monday evening but National Rail confirmed it has now reopened as of Wednesday lunchtime after flooding at Cowley Bridge.
A spokesperson for National Rail said: "Heavy rain over the past couple of days caused significant flooding to the railway at Cowley Bridge, closing the line at the station.
"Engineers have now rectified the issue, and following a line inspection, the line between Exeter St Davids and Taunton has reopened.
"For the rest of today, trains between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes, due to trains and train crew being out of position."
