ARMED police swooped in Chard to arrest a wanted man who had been on the run.
Officers armed with guns swooped at an address in Combe Street after the police helicopter tracked the man from Devon and Cornwall to the area.
As the helicopter was seen circling overhead, officers approached the address before bursting in at arresting the man.
The incident unfolded at around 4pm in Chard yesterday evening, with the man arrested at around 6pm.

He was wanted after skipping a court date in Devon and Cornwall.
A spokesman for police confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident and despite initial reports, there were no firearms involved.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "The police helicopter over Chard was looking for a wanted man from over the border in Devon and Cornwall.
"The man was arrested for failing to attend a court date.
"No weapons were involved in the incident, and there was no threat to the public.
"Armed officers were also called to the incident."
