AN UNIDENTIFIED police officer from Avon and Somerset has been sacked for being a "discredit" to the police and for his relationships with three different women.

A misconduct hearing took place on Monday, April 25 in relationship to the officer known only as PC TZ.

It was alleged that PC TZ breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour for police officers.

The following allegations were proven:

  • n Between December 2004 and May 2006, within the context of an intimate relationship with Ms X, behaved in such a manner towards Ms X to bring discredit upon the police service.
  • Between December 2004 and May 2006, during a social occasion conducted yourself in in such a manner to bring discredit upon the police service.

The chair of the panel previously ruled the hearing should be held in private to protect the vulnerable witnesses involved in this and future legal proceedings.

This ruling remains in place.

The panel found that the actions of PC TZ amounted to discreditable conduct and he was dismissed without notice.

ACC Sarah Crew said: “The actions of this individual fell well below the standard we expect from each and every officer.

“We will always act to safeguard those most vulnerable and support them in both criminal and misconduct matters.

“The actions of this officer are in stark contrast to the conduct of the majority of our officers, staff and volunteers.”
