SOMERSET Sight is setting up activity groups for young and working age sight impaired people across the county – and the charity is also looking to recruit volunteers to help out.
Fun events could include driving experience days, horse riding and adventure weekends.
Activity officer Jo Thomas said: “Supporting visually impaired people to participate in group activities is so worthwhile and rewarding.
“It’s amazing facilitating group activities that give people the opportunity to make new friends, to support each other to overcome obstacles, to gain confidence and importantly to have fun.”
A meeting is being held at the Museum of Somerset, Taunton, on Tuesday, December 1, at 3pm.
If you wish to attend or to volunteer call Jo on 01823-366145 or e-mail Jo@somersetsight.org.uk.
Somerset Sight has already started a monthly group in Glastonbury attended by 15 people.
