There was a lucky escape for workers after a piling rig toppled over on a construction site in Bridgwater this morning (Thursday).

The driver of the rig escaped from the cabin unhurt after the incident at the Notaro Care Home site on the A39.

An internal investiagtion has begun to identify the cause of the accident.

The area around the rig, which is used to drive large poles into the ground, is now cordoned off while the investigation is carried out.

Work started on the £10million care home in March and is expected to be finished by October next year.
