ANDREA Male is the new children and young people’s therapist at bibic children’s charity.

Andrea, 45, from Huish Episcopi, will work closely with families being helped by bibic to create therapy programmes to give them skills and strategies to support their child.

She said: “Joining the bibic team is a great way to finish off 2014.

“I am really enjoying my role so far and have loved meeting the different children and families that are being supported by us.

“I have more than 15 years’ experience supporting children with additional physical, developmental, behavioural and emotional needs.

“I have undergone extensive professional development training covering specific learning difficulties, development delays, educational needs and medical conditions including supporting children with severe and complex needs.”

Andrea was previously special educational needs manager in a mainstream school, where she organised and delivered individualised programmes for children supporting a wide range of additional needs.

Jon Shoesmith, interim chief executive and family services manager at bibic, said: “Andrea has an extremely important role as she will be dealing with many of the families we support on a day to day basis.”

bibic helps children and young people aged from six months to 18-years-old with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities to achieve their potential for a happier and more fulfilled life.
