MORE than £1,200 was donated to the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) appeal over the past week.
The County Gazette-backed charity funds equipment for the Beacon Centre charity unit at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.
Donations included £500 from the Stockland Club’s customers and friends; £210.35 from the Beacon Centre, including £30 from Trevor Keech, £20.80 from Jan Biddiscombe and friends, and £12 from Mr and Mrs Tancock; £68.40 from the Book People at the request of Debenhams; £40 from a speaker at Abbeyfield, and £23 given anonymously.
Collections included £214.10 from Tesco, in Ilminster; £47.02 from a collection box at the Galmington One Stop Shop, in Taunton; and £101.20 from E. J. Teares newsagents, in Wellington.
The total raised since SURE linked up with the County Gazette has now risen to £444,386.
