PEOPLE across the Avon and Somerset force area are being asked to help find the ‘top cops’ in this year’s Neighbourhood Policing Awards.

Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “The awards give residents and local people the chance to recognise and reward their local neighbourhood policing teams and volunteers.”

The categories are Neighbourhood Beat Team, Neighbourhood Beat Manager, PCSO, Special Constable, Volunteer and the Outstanding Customer Service.

Acting Chief Constable John Long said: “If you know a police officer, PCSO, special constable or neighbourhood team who has helped you to feel safe in your home or area, perhaps by tackling a problem which matters to you, then please nominate them for these awards.”

To nominate someone before the August 4 deadline, click on the Neighbourhood Policing Awards related link on this story.

The winners will be announced in November.
