WORK has begun to repair a road tunnel in Dorset which claimed the lives of two Somerset people when they were killed in a landslide.
Rosemary Snell, 67, from Misterton, and Michael Rolfe, 72, from Fivehead, died in July when their car was crushed under tonnes of rubble at the Beaminster Tunnel.
After examining options, engineers at Dorset County Council will be stabilising the soil at the site as part of a £2.1m project to repair the tunnel.
The work still needs to be granted planning permission but is expected to start at the beginning of January.
