WI: MEMBERS welcomed Francis Watson for a return visit with his collection of mysterious boxes inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Each box was opened to reveal a fascinating collection of mother-of-pearl objects, hatpins, combs, cut-throat razors, cigarette cases, compacs and more. Each one lovingly remembered as to date and where purchased and for how much. A fascinating talk.

In January we will meet on Tuesday, 13 at 1pm for a soup and ploughman’s lunch followed by a Beetle Drive. This should be a cheerful afternoon to brighten up gloomy January.

The November competition for a piece of mother-of-pearl jewellery was won by Julia Snellock who also won Flower of the Month.
