DESERVING charities have received a cash injection from Ilminster’s Minster Church following this year’s Midsummer Experience Festival.
The church raised a total of £761.19 during the five-day event, which ran from June 10 to 14, by holding various collections in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, the Children’s Hospice South-West and the Young Cerdics.
Sue Scott, community fundraiser for St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “We’re extremely grateful for any money raised, especially at this difficult time.
“We want to thank the people of Ilminster for their ongoing support.”
Caroline Dowell, chairman of the recently formed Chard and Ilminster Friends of the Children’s Hospice South-West, said the group was delighted with the donation.
“The hospice has just started work on a third house in Cornwall,” she said.
“We’re doing everything we can at the moment to help get it off the ground.”
