ANTIQUES experts were kept busy last week when visitors attended a special event at Dillington House, near Ilminster, armed with their prized possessions.
Ilminster Lions Club organised the valuation day to raise funds for St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and members were delighted at its success.
A steady stream of visitors had their items inspected by a trio of experts from Sherborne-based Charterhouse Valuers.
A club spokesman said: “Many people brought a number of items for valuation and several went away very pleasantly surprised at the value.
“The valuers, Richard Bromell, Naomi Grabham and Mathew Whitney, were described as being friendly, very helpful and giving the right amount of background information.
“They were also complimented on how they managed expectations!”
The club would like to thank Charterhouse Valuers, Dillington House staff and visitors who supported the Antiques Roadshow-style event.
