AN ILMINSTER girl who had been missing since the weekend has been found 'safe and well'.

Avon and Somerset Police yesterday renewed their appeal to find 14-year-old Cindy Worthington, who had not been seen since leaving her home in the Donyatt Hill area of Ilminster at about 8.40pm on Sunday (June 4).

She is described as white, about 5ft 4ins tall, of medium build with blue eyes and long straight dark brown hair. She was wearing a light blue crop top, denim leggings and black Nike training shoes.

Detective Inspector Angela Burtonwood said: “It’s not out of character for Cindy to go missing but that doesn’t mean we’re not worried about her.

“She’s a vulnerable 14-year-old girl and we’re doing everything we can to ensure she is safe and returned home quickly.

“As part of our inquiry we’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to her on Sunday night, especially anyone who provided her with a lift.

“If you did give her a lift, where did you drop her off and did she tell you where she was going?

"She has often spoken about travelling to large cities but at the moment her whereabouts are completely unknown."

Cindy was found today, and a spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "We would like to inform you that teenager Cindy Worthington, who was reported missing from Ilminster, has been found safe and well.

"Thank you to all those who shared our appeal and contacted us with information."

Cindy was reported as missing last Tuesday, before she was spotted by a member of the public in Bristol.
