DRIVERS travelling between Ilminster and Taunton on the A358 are being warned of long delays following a crash.

Two people had to be released by fire crews from their cars after the smash-up by West Hatch (April 12).

Four vehicles were involved and the road was blocked in both directions for around two hours causing delays for motorists.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said that four people had been taken to hospital.

He added: "We were called at 11.50am to reports of a four vehicle collision just outside of West Hatch.

"Four people suffered minor injuries and have been taken to hospital.

"The road was partially blocked while we await recovery of the vehicles and there is a lot of traffic in the area.

"Anyone who saw anything is asked to call us on 101 quoting reference number 374."

Two fire engines and the rescue tender from Taunton were also sent to the crash to help and confirmed that five people were treated by ambulance staff.
