ILMINSTER actors took to the stage recently for a production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at the Warehouse Theatre in Ilminster.

The cast was made up of people from the Ilminster Entertainments Society and Ilminster Youth Theatre.

Malcom Young, who runs the Warehouse Theatre, and who wrote and directed this performance, said: “It went incredibly well. We played to pretty much packed houses. We were thrilled with the audience response, very pleased.”

The Youth Theatre’s next performance is a show which was written specially by Lucy Driver called Putting on the Blitz.

Involving all 70 members of the group, the play tells the story of evacuees who are sent to a village near Ilminster.

Rehearsals started this week, with the production due to go on stage on May 5, 6 and 7.
