It was not the most successful of summers for Ilminster, despite winning the Baker Cup at the County Ground, but there was still a good turnout from players, officials and supporters at the annual end-of-season get-together.

Chairman Paul Knight said that it would be an important year ahead with the club taking on the sole responsibility of The Shed at Ilminster Recreation Ground with Ilminster Town FC moving to new premises in Britten’s Field.

“We need everyone’s support and we need more people to come through and help on the committee,” he said.

“But the club is a family and I’m sure we will do well and stick together.”

Clubman of the year was named as Craig Rice who quickly said he felt that there were others more deserving of the award.

“If we didn’t have the bar staff at The Shed we wouldn’t have a club,” he said.
