AN Ilminster woman accused of deliberately bursting two tyres on her partner’s bicycle has had her case adjourned to see if the police can caution her instead.
Tanya Louise Jones, 27, of Station Road, appeared before Somerset Magistrates, sitting at a special domestic violence court at Yeovil.
She was charged on allegations that on June 14 at Ilminster she destroyed two bike tyres belonging to Jamie Laing.
Defending solicitor Joseph Wright made an application for an adjournment, saying that the defendant had been the victim of a serious incident involving her partner shortly before the offence, and said that the police were to be asked if she could instead be given a caution as an alternative to facing a criminal prosecution.
The magistrates agreed to the request and adjourned the matter until October 22 to see if this course of action would be followed.
