CHILDREN at Greenfylde First School in Ilminster are used to welcoming visitors - but they had a very special visitor when the town’s Mayor, Cllr Rose Neave, came to meet the puipls and staff and talk to the children about her role.
The children had lots of questions for the Mayor and were especially interested in her civic role as they have been learning about Guardians and finding out about people in Ilminster who have special roles in caring for the community.
The talk also helped the children learn more about democracy and they were fascinated by the Mayor's chain of office and the historical significance of all the links.
