Witness appeal following collision on A303 Ilminster bypass
A MAN and woman in their 80s were taken to hospital with broken bones after a two-vehicle collision on the A303 Ilminster bypass yesterday (June 28).
Thier blue Suzuki Wagon R was in collision with a van between the Southfields roundabout and Hayes End at South Petherton at around 2.30pm.
It's believed the Suzuki was pulling out of a layby and performing a U-turn at the time.
The van driver was unhurt.
The road was closed in both directions for some time while the scene was examined and the vehicles recovered.
Police are appealling for witnesses and are asking anyone who saw the incident or either of the vehicles beforehand to call the Collision Investigation Unit at Almondsbury via 101 quoting log number 454 of 28/07.
