PINK Floyd may have sung about it in 1979 but it is the Blues of Ilminster Town FC of 2015 who want your support in order to place “another brick in the wall” of its planned new pavilion.

Club officials are edging ever closer to seeing their long-held dream of new clubhouse and facilities on land at Britten’s Field become a reality.

The club has already secured the near £600,000 needed to build the new Gooch Pavilion, but the fundraising continues and now a Buy a Brick campaign has been launched, which will offer people the opportunity to show everlasting support and help to provide a football and community facility.

Sponsorship co-ordinator Paul Webber said: “The people of Ilminster have an opportunity to be part of the club’s history by buying an engraved brick, which will form part of a dedicated wall.

“This wall will be in the social area of the Gooch Pavilion to remind everyone of the individuals and businesses who have supported the club.”

Paul added: “We are very proud to announce that local business Brakes Motor Company have shown their support for the club and have purchased two of the most prominent business bricks and have also signed up to become Ilminster Town FC’s main sponsor for the 2016-17 season."

“We would like to thank John Charles for showing his support to our club and the Gooch Pavilion – we wish him and all his staff the best of luck as they launch the new Ford Terrier Camper van range.”

Although the club is in the early stages of the campaign, the support shown already has been overwhelming and officials would like to thank everyone who has bought a brick so far.

Personal bricks are available at £25 for a brick including two lines of text or £50 for a brick including four lines of text. Business bricks range from £150, £250 and £500.

Club chairman Darren Manley has thanked everyone who has already pledged to buy bricks and is looking forward to welcoming more supporters to have their own specially engraved brick in the Gooch Pavilion.
