THE 1st Ilminster Scouts are celebrating the group’s 100th birthday this year and hope it will be ‘blooming’ marvellous.
To kick-start celebrations they have planted bulbs at Ilminster Recreation Ground.
The Scouts were joined by Beavers, Cubs and their leaders to plant the bulbs in the shape of the Scouts’ Fleur de Lys sign.
The group will see the bulbs flower and create a little piece of Scouting horticulture at the recreation ground.
It will also host other events during the year to commemorate the centenary.
