THE last week of school before Christmas got off to a flying start at Neroche Primary School.
A record 140 Christmas dinners were served by the teachers to the children.
The Christmas dinner was a real community affair … in order to source healthy hot meals for the school when the school’s old supplier unexpectedly pulled out of supplying hot meals last July, the Bell Inn, of Broadway, stepped up and rescued the school’s meals service.
Head teacher Connel Boyle said: “Not only did the Bell Inn step in to help us supply hot meals to our children, the quality of the food the children are receiving is definitely restaurant standard.
“This year’s Christmas dinner has been our busiest ever and even the brussels sprouts were finished!”
