Yeah, more traffic and parking problems around the school entrance then. If the council enforced the parking restrictions it would help.

It would make an excellent community centre with different sized rooms for a variety of meetings and events.

Why not?

Surely this area isn't suitable for yet more housing. Agree with quillpen, community use would be a far better option, possibly with the integration of the youth centre from its current location on the fringe of the town.

Parking is a mega issue everywhere in Ilminster. I have found that if you call Parking Services on 0845 337 1000 and choose option 4 they take details of illegal parking. 'When' they are next in the area they will check those roads. Community space sounds like a good idea but don't we already have the Meeting Rooms, Youth Centre, Parish Hall and schools to hire out?

Affordable housing on the Youth Centre site?
Access is good for the old surgery. Car parking there and a car park nearby. A good place for specialised events which would bring people in to them and then into the town.

as much as i would have liked to have seen this building used for community purposes our even an extention to the ever growing school i can not see any reason why the council will refuse the application.

if they build the 9 houses with parking
there will probly be less traffic comming from them homes than there was comming from the doctors surgey... but it you add the plans the council are taking foward in regard of building houses on the shrudrick valley that end of ilminster is going to be a nightmare with traffic etc suppose only time will tell
