Funding up for grabs with Gooch Trust
9:00am Sunday 2nd December 2012 in Ilminster
CLUBS and organisations in Ilminster are being encouraged to find out whether the Gooch Trust can help them with funding.
Applications are being invited for the trust’s next meeting at the beginning of December.
Application forms are available from Marion Ward on 01460-52214 or you can download a form from the website at goochtrust.co.uk Heather Virgin, chairman of the trust, said: “We’re very pleased to have assisted nearly 70 Ilminster-based organisations, including the Minster Church, since starting our work with grants, now exceeding £200,000.
“We’re especially pleased that the Vaughan Lee minibus, which received a grant towards its purchase and maintenance, has turned out to be such a success.
“It’s not only used for resident outings and to ferry local people to the weekly lunch club – it’s also used by the Barrington Day Centre and Muchelney House residents.
“I feel this is an excellent example of how the Gooch Trust has been able to make a difference to the people of Ilminster.”
Some organisations have been helped more than once by the Gooch Trust, and fresh applications are welcome at the next meeting on Friday, December 14.
