A SET of autographs from legendary Manchester United players are set to score at an auction in Crewkerne.

Signings from some of the club’s greatest players will be going under the hammer next month.

Man Utd’s famous side of 1968, including the Holy Trinity of George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law, all signed the piece of paper back in their prime.

The autographs have been entered into auction by a person from Bridport after being acquired at the Russell Square Hotel in London.

Here, the players stayed prior to the famous 1968 European Cup Final at Wembley, which they went on to win 4-1 after extra time.

Other famous players found are World Cup winner Nobby Stiles, and Harry Gregg, who became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world when he signed for the Red Devils back in 1957 for £23,000.

Simon Jones, Lawrences auctioneer, said: “This is a wonderful piece of football history with many legendary players from that era.

“It has remained with the vendor from 1968 until now, and we are hoping it will find a good home with a fellow enthusiast.”

They are set to make £150 to £250 when auctioned on May 18.
