YEAR 10 students at Wadham School took part in an engineering workshop last week as part of the EDF Inspire Programme.
The programme seeks to create greater student engagement in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).
Staff from the EDF Energy Visitor Centre at Hinkley Point spoke about how energy is generated and then students undertook a practical task to build a wind turbine.
There was a competitive element with the aim being to see which group could generate the most energy from their design.
