A RARE Chinese vase is set to sell for more than £20,000 when it goes up for auction in Crewkerne.
The porcelain piece dates from the reign of the Wanli Emperor, who ruled from 1572 to 1620, and bears his six-character mark to the base.
The vase has been consigned to Lawrences Auctioneers of Crewkerne for inclusion in their October Fine Arts Sale.
A spokesman from Lawrences said the vase, which measures 52cm in height and 50cm in diameter is “certainly of Imperial proportions”.
Consigned as part of a private estate, it is expected to make between £20,000 and £30,000 when it is offered for sale on October 13.
