A CREWKERNE man who allegedly assaulted a female security officer at a bar in Yeovil town centre denied the offence when he appeared in court.
Nathan Francis, 20, of South Street, denied assaulting Deborah Barrett by beating her during the early morning incident at Woods Wine Bar where she was employed on January 16.
Prosecutor Christine Hart said the defendant was alleged to have been verbally abusive to the victim.
Somerset Magistrates were told Francis claimed he was not involved in the incident and did not do any of the things that were alleged.
A review of the case was conducted and it was adjourned to April 12 when he must return to the court at Yeovil for a trial to take place. Until then he was released on unconditional bail.
