Two vehicles were set alight in a "deliberate" fire near Crewkerne last night.
Two fire appliances, one from Crewkerne and one from Yeovil were sent to reports of a 4x4 vehicle on fire in the street close to thatched properties in Haaselbury Plucknett.
A fire service spokesman said: "When crews arrived they found two vehicles well alight in close proximity to thatched roofs. Crews used two sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.
"The vehicles were extinguished and the thatched roofs were unaffected. Both vehicles were severely damaged by fire and this was found to be deliberate ignition."
