LEGENDARY Somerset country band Denver Spur are playing The Bible Christian Centre, Haselbury Plucknett, tonight (Saturday).
Originally formed as a cabaret act, the long-running four-piece have been a prominent part of the South-West music scene for over 35 years.
Playing a mixture of country classics and acoustic numbers, the band have released 15 albums, including their most recent record The Early Years.
Lead singer Dave Beck has been compared to country legend Johnny Cash in terms of stage presence and bass player John Cabbage Hayes' Farmer is one of country music's best known characters.
Completing the line-up is lead guitarist Paul Thomas and newest member Marty Davies on the drums, taking the place of long-time member John Steel who retired in 2006. The group made their first television appearance after winning a local talent competition, which was followed by slots on the BBC and ITV.
They have also been featured in a special Spotlight' programme on Radio Bristol.

The music starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £6 full price, £5 for concessions, with proceeds to The Park Project.
