THERE will be a cream tea and table top sale, plus Bluebell Walk, at Chaffcombe on Saturday to raise funds for Diamond Jubilee celebrations in the village.
Cream teas will be served from about 2.30pm in the village hall with a table top sale and tombola, home-made cake stall and raffle in aid of the Jubilee fund.
Val and John Godsmark are leading a walk from the church car park at 1.30pm to see their bluebell woodland, as long as the weather is kind.
Villagers have worked hard organising celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee on June 4 with plans for a cricket match, rounders, children’s races and other attractions, including an evening barbecue.
They have already made 1,200 metres of bunting ready for the weekend of celebrations with donated materials, and a scarecrow and treasure trail is also being planned, along with possible trips to the top of the village church tower.
