A CHARD man who was injured when his bike was involved in a collision in the town has thanked everyone who came to his assistance.
Mark Stabbins, 41, of Henson Park, suffered a broken wrist and bruising in the accident on the roundabout near Tesco at about 7.50am on Friday, January 13.
Mark, who works at Brecknell Willis Composites, praised a young woman who stopped and helped both him and the driver and called 999. He also thanked the emergency services for their rapid response.
Mark, who is often seen around town with his wife, Heather, with their Faceit Face Painting Disco and Party service, also wants to return a brown blanket used to keep him warm.
He said: “The emergency services were there very quickly – as soon as they got there everything was sorted out straight away. They are worth their salt.
“The lady who helped me was also very good – she stopped the traffic coming out one side. I was in no fit state once I hit the floor.”
Mark was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and stayed there until Sunday, January 15.
He had a steel plate fitted in his arm to hold the bones together.
He added: “It is healing well and I had the stitches out last week but it is going to be a few weeks before I’m back to work yet.”
He is hoping the cast can come off in about four or five weeks’ time so he can start to get some movement back in his hand.
