THE parents of a woman tragically killed in a road traffic accident near Buckland St Mary have paid tribute to their daughter, who died on her birthday.
Alison Lee, who was 45 on the day of the accident, died after the motorcycle she was riding was in a collision involving two cars on Lisieux Way, near Buckland, at about 7.50am on Tuesday last week.
She was airlifted to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Joan and Ernie Lee have said Alison was a “wonderful daughter” and would be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Her parents said she had lived in Chard all her life and had attended Manor Court Primary School and then Holyrood Community School.
“She loved music, photography and exploring the countryside. Her special hobby was science fiction films and TV,” her parents said.
“She travelled around the country joining friends at conventions and meeting actors, writers and costume designers who work in the media.”
Alison had spent all of her working life in various departments at the Hydrographic Office in Taunton.
Mr and Mrs Lee added: “Alison was a wonderful daughter who will be sadly missed by family and friends.”
The family have said that funeral arrangements are available from Bishop’s Funeral Services in Chard on 01460-66909.
They have requested no flowers but donations to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the accident on Tuesday (March 9) morning is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 0845-4567000.
