A GROUP of kind-hearted pupils have come up trumps for children living in Chard’s twin Romanian town of Seica Mare.
Youngsters at Manor Court Primary School decided they wanted to help their counterparts in Romania after they received a visit from the Seica Mare children during the official twinning celebrations in September.
So when it came to harvest festival time, the children brought in loads of pens and pencils, art and craft materials – all of which are now heading for Seica Mare in time for Christmas.
Dawn Fletcher and Steve Zenda, of the Chard-based Project Romania charity, both went along to Manor Court Primary School to collect the mountain of gifts.
And Dawn said: “I can’t thank Manor Court enough for this wonderful gesture.
“The children in Seica Mare will be thrilled.”
