2:18pm Friday 29th February 2008 in Chard By Joanna Glover
CARING pupils at Avishayes Primary School in Chard dug deep today (Friday) to help raise charity cash.
Students from year six baked cakes and held stalls to help raise money for a child in India sponsored by the school.
The school needs to raise £180 a year for seven-year-old Dharani.
The youngsters made their own leaflets and sent them out around the area to encourage people to come and help boost the coffers.
A tea and coffee stall, selling Fairtrade products, was also held as part of Action Aid's Tea and Coffee Break.
