1:37pm Monday 25th February 2008 in Chard By Kirsty Maclagan
A NEWS reader from Chard is celebrating his fortieth birthday this week - although he is technically not old enough to enjoy it with a pint down his local!Leap year baby Julian Totterdell will reach the milestone age on Friday, however it is only the tenth time he has been able to celebrate on his actual birthday.Julian, who was born on February 29 1968, lives on Bubwith Road with wife Emma and four children Jadeene, 4, Jacacia, 8, Joshua, 9, and Jordan, 11. He grew up in Tiverton, Devon, and moved to Chard 15 years ago after meeting Emma, who has lived in the area all her life.Emma said: "Julian usually holds his birthday on February 28 as it causes less confusion to keep it in the same month. "It will be really nice for him to be able to celebrate on his actual birthday this year - especially as it is such a landmark age."The birthday boy will be marking the four-yearly occasion on Friday by taking a day trip with Emma, followed by a low-key family meal.
