Car fire in Chard

FIRE crews were called out to deal with a car blaze at Bewley Court, off Helliers Road, in Chard last night.

The alarm was raised at just after 9pm and fire officers found on arrival one vehicle, a fence and hedge well alight.

Crews used foam and two breathing apparatus to put out the fire which is thought to have been caused accidentally.

While the car was completely destroyed by fire, a second vehicle suffered slight damage in the incident.
