SHARP-WITTED pupils from schools across the South West came together at Avishayes Primary School, Chard, to compete in a national quiz challenge today.
Youngsters from Avishayes and Manor Court Primary School, Chard, went head to head with pupils from three other schools in Dorset in the Inter-Schools Quiz Club Championship.
Playing in teams of four, pupils had to answer 50 general knowledge questions, ranging in difficulty, as part of the game show-style competition.
Each team member was given a wireless handset to select their answer from a number of different options that were projected onto a big screen.
The winners of the area heat will go on to compete in the next stage of the competition, culminating in the regional finals at the end of the academic year.
Pictured ready to hit their buzzers are primary school pupils from Avishayes and Manor Court in Chard and Stricklands, Mrs. Ethelstons and Parrett & Axe in Dorset, with quizmaster Simon Blair (centre).
