Police appeal after collision

A TEENAGER was killed after a road traffic collision on the A303 at Newtown, Buckland St Mary, near Chard on Saturday.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision which happened at around 3.50am on Saturday February 9.

The 19-year-old man from West Sussex was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton but died later.

A police spokesman said: "The police's collision investigation unit believes a Vauxhall Vectra descended a small hill and then lost control on a bend.

"It was in collision with a Peugeot travelling in the opposite direction and ended up in the front garden of a nearby property."

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information to help their enquiries.
