Two injured in A30 collision

THE Fire Service was called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle which was on its side on the A30 near the Windwhistle pub in Chard yonight (Sunday).

Fire Crews confirmed that two people were still trapped within the vehicle, crews stabilised the vehicle and used cutting equipment to remove the complete roof, whilst paramedics assessed the condition of the casualties.

At 20:06 both casualties were released from the vehicle on spinal boards and left in the hands of ambulance personnel. Fire Crews then made the vehicle safe.

Two appliances from Chard attended together with a Rescue Tender from Yeovil.
