TWO men were arrested and another man suffered serious facial injuries after an incident in Chard on Sunday evening.
Police were called to a property in Furzehill just before 5.30pm after reports of a man being assaulted.
Officers found a 45-year-old man with injuries including a broken cheekbone and a broken jaw.
He was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton but doctors were unable to provide further details of his condition as the News went to press this morning (Tuesday, August 14).
Several police units and an ambulance attended Sunday's incident and the property in Furzehill was cordoned off throughout the evening.
Police investigations later led to a 33-year-old Chard man being arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He was taken to Yeovil Police Station for questioning before being released on bail.
Another man, aged 57 and also from Chard, was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was taken to Taunton Police Station and was also released on bail.
