8:56pm Monday 13th August 2007 in Chard By Joanna Glover
CHARD Cricket Club will be ending the summer with a swing when the Three Counties Swing Band performs on the grounds.
The band will be performing for the Party on the Pitch event next Sunday, August 26 from 6.30pm.
The 17-piece band with members from Devon, Dorset and Somerset will be performing in Chard for the first time ever, despite having members from the town.
They will be performing many of the best-loved toe tappers from the 40s along with some Latin, ballads and boogie.
There will even be something a little more high energy from the Buddy Rich repertoire and more contemporary numbers like Pick up the Pieces and Moondance.
Big Band DJ Paul Zoot' Thornton and his partner Lynn will be entertaining the crowd during the evening with a dancing demonstration and might even get some willing participants to try for themselves.
For more information call musical director Kevin Dunn on 01460-61177 or Chard Cricket Club on 01460-63829.
