FIREFIGHTERS were called to a property in South Petherton following reports of a chimney fire. 

One fire crew from Martock went to the property on South Street at 5.21pm yesterday (March 21) to fight the fire. 

When crews arrived they confirmed smoke was coming from the property and requested for another fire engine to attend. 

Fire Control sent a fire crew from Yeovil to the incident. 

On arrival, crews confirmed Smoke Issuing and requested for a further Fire 

Firefighters got to work at the hearth of the propertyy to damp down embers.

At 6.21pm firefighters asked for the Aerial Ladder Platform to be mobilised.

At 6.41pm crews identified hot spots on the chimney breast using the Thermal Imaging Camera.
